Connecting the world’s brightest young minds with leading partner organisations to tackle the UN Sustainable Development Goals

Future17 is a multi-institutional, multi-disciplinary global challenges education programme for students focused on developing 21st century skills and tackling the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It aims to:

This transformative educational partnership was initiated by the University of Exeter in partnership with QS. A consortium of world-leading universities from different continents has been formed to bring together students to work in teams under the mentorship of academics and partner organisations sourced by the QS World Merit Charity from businesses, charities, and state bodies. Participating students are presented with real-world challenges and tasked with the development of actionable insights to bring new solutions, collaborating across borders and disciplines to make their mark and galvanise real change.

A pilot of the programme was launched in January 2022 with over 100 students from the University of Exeter, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), Stellenbosch University, and the University of São Paulo (USP) working together on 11 projects provided by different partner organisations. Future17 aims to expand to 20 more university members from September 2022.

Register with QS if you are an organisation interested in engaging young talents in addressing real-life SDGs-focused projects.
